OWHP started as a whisper of an idea that is blossoming into a plan of action. Four years ago, on a walk in the park on a beautiful spring day, the image of a dollar bill with a heart on it popped into my head. It was followed by the words, One World Heart Project. Okay, what does this mean? At first I didn’t know but over time it has become clearer. Is it possible to change the world through small acts of caring? As Manuel Gonzales Prada said, “The displacement of a little sand can change occasionally the course of deep rivers.” Maybe the image wasn’t about money but love. Maybe love is the new currency. Love doesn’t only belong to the privileged few. It belongs to all of us. The idea of making a difference by rethinking the traditional concept of philanthropy was born. It’s not just about money. It’s about giving and the spirit of giving.
Our objective is to encourage people of all ages to create and engage in acts of service to promote positive change in themselves and the world they live in.
